Ketching up on Ketchikan

(Ah, civilization and a fast internet connection in Vancouver - now we can catch-up)

Do you like salmon? Half of all US salmon sold is caught in Ketchikan. We were warned that half the rain that falls in Alaska, falls in Ketchikan (160 in/year vs 30-40 in NJ), but we were very fortunate.

A few shots as the Mariner approached the docks. We were one of 4 ships in that day.

You can't swing a dead cat in Alaska without some eagle plucking it from your hand. Half of all the bald eagles in North America live in Alaska and we saw dozens. I caught this pair on a harbor crane.

We disembarked into the unusual sunshine and headed to "Creek Street".

Now where do they park those floatplanes?
